Although Arcanists servers are usually quite busy, and so rated games usually start quickly, this achievement can be very hard to obtain and can take quite a while to get. This is because, due to the high amount of players playing rated games, you usually get put against players who have a much lower rating than you by the time you hit 1.8k+ rating; the consequence of this is that you gain minimal(e.g. 10) rating (if any) from winning a game, and drop usually between 55 and 100 rating for losing a game.

A good way to get match ups that will ensure you some rating for winning is to search for a maximum of 10 seconds at a time, then cancelling your search and search again. Due to the nature of how the game searches for opponents, one will get an opponent with a similar rating if only searching for small amounts of time.
