Thirty-Six Card Trick is a Texas Cowboy themed pair-matching memory game released on 27th February 2008, which is the day that FunOrb was released. However, this game has several twists as compared to ordinary pair-matching games (see Gameplay).

Gameplay

This game is played like any other pair matching game: to flip over pairs (18 pairs in this game) of cards (on the upper side has a picture that is shown on all the cards, and the underside has a certain picture that only appears twice in the set) such that two of the same image is shown. However, each game is timed and the cards sometimes switch places; in later levels, there are multiple swaps between each turn. There is also a limited number of times that a player can make a mistake.

Difficulty levels

The game offers two difficulty levels: Easy and Hard. In Easy mode the first card selected is revealed immediately: in Hard mode, it is highlighted until the second card is selected, and then the pair of cards is revealed simultaneously.

Game Removal

Mod Korpz, head of Funorb, has stated a few times that this game will be discontinued. Players that have earned achievements from this game will keep their achievements and their orb points even after this game has been discontinued. Mod Korpz stated that this game doesn't "fit in" with the company and gives the company a bad depiction. This is possibly due to the depictions of children wielding guns or stereotypes associated with the pictures.

This has sparked some controversy, as it will make it harder for newer players to climb the high scores after this game has been discontinued.

Currently, nobody knows exactly when this game will be discontinued.

Trivia

  • In games where different achievements require the same action to be done (but to different extents), the first word of their names are usually Junior, Expert, Master and Virtuoso respectively (most evident in The Track Controller). However, for the Quickshot series of Achievements in this game, "Expert" and "Master" have switched their difficulty level.
  • Thirty-Six Card Trick was previously known as 36 Card Trick, but Jagex changed the name.
